Messages and chat history
Start a new chat and enter your message. Search chat titles and text with ⌘ K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux. codef stores history and drafts on this computer.
Messages you send while a reply is running go into a queue. Drag a message to reorder it or choose Adjust to send a clarification to the current agent task.
Hold Shift to select a range of chats, or ⌘ or Ctrl to select individual chats. Available actions appear in the sidebar.
Photos and documents
Drag a file onto the message field or use the + menu. Select the cross on its preview to remove it from the draft.
codef accepts images, text PDFs, DOCX, plain text, and source code. Attach up to eight files, up to 20 MB each and 30 MB in total. Use an image-capable model for photos and attach scanned PDF pages as images.
The model receives the image or extracted text with the request. For cloud models, this data is sent to the provider. codef keeps a copy of the attachment in its data folder.
Web search
Ask the model to look up current information and cite sources. Enable web access in Agent behavior and choose a model with tool support. The search service receives the search query, so you can disable web access for sensitive work.
Commands and plugins
Open the + menu or type / to see commands. Pick a
plugin from the menu or type @ to attach it to a
message.
Use the plugin creator to describe a task, review the instructions, and install the plugin. Installed extensions appear in Settings → Plugins and skills.
